The SAFE Act: Mortgage License Application

Congress adopted the SAFE Act in 2010 which implemented minimum standards that the states are to follow as to the licensing of a Mortgage Loan Originator.  Because these are minimum standards, the expectations an applicant may face as to each state can vary.  To add to the confusion, a Mortgage Loan Originator may now be required to meet standards that were not expected in the past.

It is important to ensure that an application is complete before submission for processing.  Having it done right from the start may reduce the added costs associated with an incomplete or incorrect application.
